I haven't really had my camera out since Christmas. I had to take down all of my studio stuff to turn the spare room into a playroom (gotta house all of those toys somewhere!). That combined with the dreary winter weather and I just haven't really felt like shooting.
I decided to put everything back up for a quick evening shoot with River (whom I took shots of for Christmas as well). It was nice to break out the gear again. I was feeling rusty... and now wish I had another permanent space to work in.
I'm in the process of getting our garage cleaned out and finished so that I can turn it into a short-term "hobby" studio. With the new baby on the way, a toddler, work, etc, etc it's hard to find free time (and money) to work on it. Hopefully something will be in place for when the new munchkin arrives. If not, I'll be shooting him on the living room floor!
Back to the session. It was for River's first birthday (today). In this particular shot, she wasn't too happy about wearing the party hat. I loved her expression combined with the adorable dress and the colorful cone hat. She's mostly smiles - a joy to shoot - but this one's making the blog!
I doubt I'll be updating all that frequently over the next few months, but I'll try to avoid month-long dry spells! I know some grandparents who are probably itching for some new shots of Caydence.
